PROJECT: Folds road bridge DESCRIPTION
OF WORK: 128 meters
of Corus N2, 3 rail parapet and transitions to tie back into an open box beam
system CLIENT: BAM Nuttall On being awarded the job on of our engineers
went to site to conduct a survey of the bridge deck, this information is then
used to create CAD drawings for the client to approve before fabrication
begins By doing this enables us to ensure that the
system will be erected right first time and to the manufacturer’s
specifications. We erected two lengths of Corus tubes P365
steel parapet on each side of the bridge using fixing centres chemical anchor
resin systems, which our erection team drilled and installed the anchors on
the First day on site, we then erected the
parapet on the Westside of the bridge enabling the client to remove the
scaffold and edge protection, whist the client stripped the scaffolding on
the west side We continued to complete the Eastside which
was completed a day ahead of the programmed time which enabled the client to
remove the traffic management a day early. Upon the completion of the job as built
drawings are issued along with all test certificates and a maintenance guide.
